Newts and Salamanders are distinctive amphibians because of their lizard like appearance. They have a long body shape and unlike frogs and toads have a tail. They inhabit a wide range of habitats from relatively dry woodland to an almost completely aquatic lifestyle. No matter the habitat they are rarely found far from a water source.
